Summer Camp Motto:
"The worst day in the field is better than the best day in the classroom."
Subject Matter: Participants visit various habitats and ecosystems in eastern Idaho, including
Market Lake Wildlife Refuge, Hell's Half Acre, Pine Creek, Swan Valley, and the desert region
west of Idaho Falls. From measuring the health of streams to discovering the amazing
adaptations of desert wildlife, this camp gives youths a chance to examine the importance
of bio-diversity and the interconnectedness of humans and wildlife. Participants also meet
several scientists who provide a rare glimpse into the scientific fields of anthropology,
archeology, geology, and even herpetology (the study of snakes!).
